Rayburn Music has for rent or purchase a Student Drum kit or Bell kit.  The Snare kit contains a snare drum, a snare drum stand, a practice pad and a pair of drumsticks.  The Bell kit has a 2-1/2 octave bell set, a practice pad, a stand for the bells or practice pad, drum sticks and bell mallets.  These are stored and carried in a backpack style case.

Cymbals
Cymbals are made of metal alloys, bronze, copper and zinc. You can strap them on your hands and clash them together or support them on a stand and use a wide variety of sticks and mallets to strike them. They come in all sorts of sizes but are generally only one shape – circular.   They make a clang when you crash them and a whoosh when you roll on them.

The Snare Drum
The snare drum can be traced back to one of the oldest instruments, the hand made cylindrical drum, dating back to prehistoric days when they were just hollowed out tree trunks and had fish skin heads. Rattles were soon added to the inside of the drum for effect. Today’s snare drum has had the addition of modern plastic heads and metal snares attached to the bottom side of the drum to make the very unique snappy noise.  The modern snare drum is used in every genre of music and is the sound of the “back beat” of all modern popular music.
